About Me
So this is my first attempt at blogging. Maybe I should start out by telling you a little bit about myself. I joined the Navy about 9 years ago with the wholehearted and sincere desire to be a Navy SEAL. Before you can go through the training, the Navy makes you get job training. In all their wisdom, the powers that be sent me to become a photographer. While at BUD/S, I discovered that I liked carrying a camera around a whole lot more than I liked being cold, wet, tired, and sandy.
I got my first orders to the USS Tarawa out of San Diego. I did one deployment to the Persian Gulf. My enlistment ended in 2007, and I joined the Naval Reserves. I eventually ended up with Combat Camera Group Pacific, which in my humble opinion is the best command in the whole Navy. In my civilian life I own a small art gallery and framing store in Lake Tahoe. I also work as a freelance photographer in the Reno/Tahoe Area.
